May 2015 | Week Three| They’re Back!

We got our tushies in gear and hiked Whitewater this week. We’ve visited a few times, but this was the first time we actually took the walk up the mountain and back down. Adela, I thought you might be intolerable since it’s been a while since we’ve seriously hiked and I wasn’t sure how well your little legs would cope. But you surprised me and made me proud. You schooled those switchbacks! About 3.5 miles up and down, enjoying perfect Spring breezes, collecting rocks and flowers. We also welcomed Mimi and Papi back home for a couple of weeks. Your reunion was a sweet sight. Then, we headed to Disneyland, cramming in one last trip before all the Summer blackout dates. We spent 3 days with Mimi and Papi joining us for the middle day. The nice thing about being regular attendees of Disneyland (other than the obvious awesomeness of it) is that it takes all the pressure off to get it all done. We’ve done it all, so we can pick and choose when we’re there and do what makes sense, go where the lines are shortest, and really enjoy being there without being in a perpetual race. I’d say this was one of our most relaxed trips yet. I relied on the phone to take our photos again which was also a nice break. I love photographing Disney but not having to carry around my camera and worry about banging it on everything was sweet relief.
