May 2015 | Week Two | Broken Ground

Adela, we finally made it to your five year Dr. appointment… now, that you’re 5 and a half. I thought you’d have to get shots, so I prepared you. You weren’t happy about it, but so brave. And then we found out you didn’t need any. You still got a treat afterwards. We also celebrated Mother’s day by sitting in traffic most the day…er… I mean, going to the Midevil Dinner and Tournament in Buena Park. It was interesting. A cool horse show and a decent meal at the same time. Worth being in traffic for 7 hours? No. But otherwise it was fun. We’ve broken ground in our backyard! We’ve been cooking out there in the summer for years. This summer we’re going to have shade! A new concrete patio has now been poured, and there are guys in the backyard staining the wood for a new pergola. Eventually we also hope to have a bbq island and a fireplace out there. Hopefully it’ll be a place where we’ll enjoy many family meals, and make memories with each other and friends for many years to come.
