{Typical Day} October 15, 2014 | Dirt & Trains

This is rapidly becoming our home away from home, with 3 trips this year to date. This time we stayed for a week. I wanted it to be a month. Funny, two of the only three challenges of this RV resort (meaning the everything else is nearly perfect) are represented in this post. They were challenges, but they were also things that were fun for the two of you, and therefore memorable and worth the mess and noise. The Dirt. The Trains. Jo, you are obsessed with the trains. And both of you loved to get filthy in that dirt. I ended up keeping a separate outfit and pair of shoes for each of you, designated just for dirt play. There was a lot of dressing and undressing, and a lot of washing fingers and toes off in an outdoor bucket. And a lot of sweeping. Otherwise, your momma would have gone crazy. The first night, I tried to sleep without earplugs. That didn’t work. So Daddy listened for you two the rest of the time and let me sleep peacefully with earplugs in and a fan by my head. After coming to grips with those two challenges… nearly perfect. We love being able to walk to the beach and a playground too. I ran every day we were there, 26 miles total. We swam in the pool. And we also took advantage of the quiet paved roads with some new toys we picked up on this trip, some upgrades to the red tricycle. More on that later…
