{Typical Day} August 20, 2014 | Disneyland 10th Anniversary, Day 1

When we realized that, for our 10th anniversary, we had no one with whom to leave you guys (since Mimi and Papi are in Washington right now), we decided to make our Anniversary celebration a several day family affair at the happiest place on earth. This was an especially good trip. Josiah is starting to get old enough that he doesn’t require as many adjustments on our part to keep him happy. He did better waiting in line this time, maybe in part because the lines were shorter than usual. This was one of the least crowded days at Disney we’ve experienced in many years. SO NICE. We were able to do a ton, and when you feel like you are able to do a lot in a shorter amount of time, it frees you up to enjoy all the other little things that Disney has to offer without feeling like you’re missing out on something else. It’s a good feeling being able to slow down and soak in the details of a place so rich that you never run out of new things to see and do. At the end of the day, we were walking around, feeling accomplished, wrapping up our day, and saw a little band playing in Tomorowland on our way back from Autotopia and it was one of my favorite memories from that day. I don’t remember if it was me or Adela that suggested dancing, but we started, and we kept at it for a good 15 minutes. Sheer joy. So much fun. It was a great way to end a great day.
