{Typical Day} May 30, 2014 | Four Miles

Today we started out with a 4 mile hike up the a Pacific Crest Trail junction and had lunch with a view of Big Bear Lake. It was gorgeous, woods and flowers and peekaboos of the lakes as we climbed in elevation. Adela learned to walk with a walking stick and Josiah fell asleep and rubbed his chin raw on the pack again. We need to figure out how to prevent that in the future! Then we headed back to camp for some camper’s stew, one of our favorites. I don’t think we’ve ever gone camping (me and Daddy) in a place where fires were permitted, without making some version of this meal. It really hits the spot after all that exercise. And while dinner was cooking we worked more on your steering/pedaling skills, Adela. You get a bike when you master doing both at the same time. You’re getting better, but you still require a bit of guidance.
