Doughnuts on parade day has become a yearly tradition. First stop, Jelly Doughnut. Second stop, pickup Mimi. Third stop, walk to the truck we parked on the parade route at 6:30am earlier that morning. We had planned on saving all the doughnuts for during the parade, but Josiah, my dear, you freaked out when the doughnuts went into a white paper bag instead of into your mouth, so we let you guys split one in the shop.
It was hot. The parade is not that exciting. But it’s a small town thing. I kind of love that it gets to be a part of your childhoods.
