After two nights in Champagne Lakes, we spent a lazy morning hanging out around the camp site, then packed up (so easy!!), and headed out to the beach on a whim. I’m glad we did. We found a really neat (yet compact) RV campground, a five minute walk from Buccaneer Beach in Oceanside. The walk takes you by an inlet filled with birds and ducks, an awesome playground, and a little coffee shop. We already made reservations to go back. We ran into our second big issue this day. It was Superbowl Sunday and Daddy kinda wanted to sea what happened, seeing as how it was the Seahawks playing (I didn’t mind too much – gotta have some hometown pride – but I’m glad he’s not usually a football fan.) We spent the morning at the beach, and while I was prepping some hamburgers for dinner, he hooked up the cable only to find it didn’t work. He troubleshot it until he figured it out, and we were even able to catch a few minutes of the game. Honestly, I prefer the TV off when we’re camping and it generally will be. After dark, we pulled the couch out into a bed and snuggled up, the four of us, and watched Harry and the Hendersons and ate licorice. Even ‘Siah sat still and watched for about a half hour before he tuckered out and asked to be put to bed. We made as many sweet memories on this trip as I could have hoped for. It’s just so cool to be in such a small space with you guys and will Daddy, and getting to experience new things with dramatically less screen time. It gives new meaning to “a home away from home.” That’s what this camper will be. A home that travels with us. A home we can take anywhere. It’s AWESOME.
