{Typical Day} January 25, 2014 | Unbirthdays

January 25, 2014

Adela, One of your favorite things to play at these days is “Birthday Party.” You wrap up individual items and toys in as many blankets as you can find as presents. You grab “guests” out of the toy bin, have them knock on the door, and welcome them to the party. You set out birthday cake, cookies, tea… whatever you feel like. And then you have the guests hand off their gifts (either the things wrapped in blankets or imaginary gifts) to the person whose birthday (or unbirthday it is.) This day, it was my unbirthday party, attended by Snake, Hippo, Beary Godmother, Cookie Monster, and Mickey. I received purple nail polish, a brown phone, a remote, a basketball, and a toilet (thankfully, imaginary!) It’s kind of an elaboration on the tea parties you love to have. Growing up and adding on. 🙂
