Special Report – Road Trip to Washington 2013

This trip has become a yearly tradition, and it’s a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun. We drive up to Washington, spend some time in the Seattle area while Daddy works and then we go to Granny and Grandpa’s for a week and then we drive back home, usually with a stop at the beach. This is the first time we’ve done it with 2 kids, since Josiah just joined us last fall. And it really is fun having the both of you. The interactions between the two of you are so entertaining. And honestly, I think the car ride is easier with 2 of you. You entertain each other.

Things we did on this trip. We stopped at most of the rest stops we always stop at. We let Josiah stretch his legs a lot. We found every patch of grass we could between here and Seattle so that he could crawl around with hurting his knees. We stayed in the southcenter area for 2 nights when we got to Washington which was cool because that’s my stomping grounds. We went to Southcenter mall, ate at Duke’s, drove by my old house (Mimi and Papi rent it out now) and hung out at my old neighborhood park.) We had our family pictures taken and spent a day on the Seattle waterfront. Then the three of us hung out in Mukilteo while Daddy worked all week. That meant hanging on in the extended stay doing laundry, going to the local park, visiting some friends down south, shopping at the mall, and spending some time with Tia Kristy in Kent (Ivars, Coulon, doughnuts, coffee, shopping!)

After Daddy was done for the week, we packed up the car again and headed to Oroville where we enjoyed the heat and green with Granny, Grandpa and Auntie Steph. You guys played in the pool and rode in the tractor and “helped” Grandpa and Daddy frame a room. It went by so fast!

On the way home we spent a night in Glass Beach. I’ll post some photos from our day at the beach next.
