I just realized I never blogged this sweet couple I photographed a couple months ago, so I’m spending a few minutes rectifying that right now. And here’s why. I always try to share at least a few photos from every session I do (we’ll see how that goes after I have this baby and am trying to juggle a 2 year old and a newborn, haha). Sharing photos from every session is an important function of this blog. I believe every couple, family, individual, child I photograph has a story worth telling. Sharing a little piece of every client’s story keeps me accountable and inspires me to do the best I can for every client every time.
My website serves a different purpose than my blog. Blogs are time-consuming and full of information. Websites are more concise and easier to maintain (and have other benefits like large, high quality images where you can truly get a sense of the technical merit of a photographer’s work.)Β If you want to get a quick idea what some of my favorite images are, the best way to do that is to head over to www.delalanephotography.com and browse the galleries. This blog is something else. It allows clients and potential clients to get an idea of the sampling of photos they might get from a whole session, not just one or two of my favorite images. It gives you an idea what you might get when you book a session with DelaLane Photography, and I believe that what you should get is a variety of photos that give an idea who you are and where you’re at in life, photos that showcase things about your personalities and the people, things and places that are important to you.
Blog posts are the best way to try and share just a little bit of my passion for creating something other than a cookie-cutter, say-cheese experience with my clients, to show that every session is a unique experience with unique people. I want you to love your photos because when you look at them they remind you of a time in your life, images that transport you into the past and make you relive, remember, experience real memories and emotions associated with that time. Because those are the types of images I want for my own family!
Okay, enough blabbing. π Back to the couple at hand. Meet Penny and Robert.
Penny and Robert booked a session with meΒ because they wanted to celebrate their relationship, somewhat newly married, in love and very, very happy. I’ve photographed a lot of couples, and I’ll tell you what, these 2 are among the most affectionate I’ve been around. I never had to encourage them to get closer to each other or act happy. They did and they are. And Penny just graduated, again! She’s continuing her education after a long career in nursing. So inspiring.
New love, new life, new degree. Kudos and congrats! I’m so happy for you both. Best in life and love!
angie - Such an adorable couple! Love it!
